PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT! Exceeded our expectations
We celebrated my sisters 60th birthday here and had an amazing time. The house is so much larger than the pictures show. Standing in the main floor living area looking out the back patio to the expansive ocean view reminded me of being on a cruse ship. Plenty of parking,even in August near a popular beach. Huge well stocked kitchen. We cooked many meals here and it never felt crowded or like we were bumping into each other. The master bedroom was luxurious and spacious (however, the jacuzzi was set right on the edge of the deck with out any wall so be careful not to lean backwards!) Laundry in the main house, the Casita and the studio was a plus, stocked with soap. The upstairs loft (lovingly called “the crows nest” ) was very spacious with 3 comfortable twin beds, large ocean view patio, bathroom and closet. It was very quiet and private there. The home is 2 houses from the beach, stocked with sand toys,beach chairs and umbrella. It is close to some shopping but the main town of Encinitas is a few blocks away. None of us wanted to leave, we had “beach house withdrawls” for weeks after. Such a memorable trip, I cant wait to go again.

Ocean + House Synergy
The house is phenomenal(ly spacious). It is outdone by its location. The beach feels like a private beach, esp. after the public beach has cleared. Most homes are on a bluff, but this one is at the end of the bluff,s o one can walk directly to the water. Well stocked beyond expectations. You won’t need to bring anything in.

Idyllic Spot – You’ve Found It.
The photos on this page obviously give you a pretty good idea of what to expect, but you’ll probably still be blown away when you actually walk into the house. The living area is huge and never felt crowded (especially with the addition of the outdoor space) even with 13 of us in residence (including 3 kids and 2 babies). The whole place is extremely clean (window cleaners came while we were there) and well-kept. The big draw, of course, is the ocean view from nearly every window. We saw dolphins every day for the ten days that we stayed (one pod of over a hundred), seals on several days and eight-or-so grey whales migrating back north to Alaska. The beach very close with a variety of activities available and is very well maintained by the city. The property also benefits from being so close to downtown Encinitas and Leucadia which are full of shops, bars and restaurants and a 5-10 minute walk away. The station is half a mile away and $11 gets you a return trip to Santa Fe station in downtown San Diego which is walking distance from all of the downtown/port attractions such as the Gas Lamp District, USS Midway, whale watching etc. We only ate out once – at D Street Bar & Grill which was great, and ordered pizza from Manhattan Giant Pizza which was also good. As others have mentioned, grocery stores within walking distance are limited to 7 Eleven and Whole Foods, there is a Vons just over a mile away to the south and plenty of other options within a ten-minute drive including a Costco close to the Carlsbad Outlets. Regarding the way the house is set up, access to the one-bedroom casita is entirely separate from the main house and can only be accessed from its own outside entrance. The king studio is accessed via the upper garage. If you’re travelling with little ones and don’t want to lug all of the equipment with you, we had good luck renting with sandiegobabyrental.com (cribs, sheets, toys, high-chairs, booster seats etc.). They delivered it all and collected at the end of the vacation. As mentioned by many others, Barry was very helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process. We had a fantastic vacation here: sitting on the patio eating breakfast at dawn looking over the millpond flat ocean as the squadrons of pelicans skim just above the waves is certainly an experience to be savored. Just book it – you won’t regret it!

Take Your Breath Away!
If you are in need of a short getaway as I was or long vacation, don’t hesitate to stay at this beautiful well maintained property. All the comforts of home are at your fingertips, literally, from automatic shades in the master bedroom to the trash compactor in the kitchen. The views are spectacular from every point of this home. The moment you enter the front door you know you have found what you’ve been looking for in rest and relaxation. Everything you need is available for you from shampoo, soap, towels, stackable washer and dryer, hair dryer, iron and board, even hangers. Take advantage of the hot tub on the balcony of the master bedroom. Very relaxing and well maintained. The pool man was servicing the hot tub the day we left for the next family to enjoy. For those of us who love a baday, they have one of those too. Soak in the oversized jetted tub in the master bedroom with a view of the ocean is luxury in itself. The sun deck on the third floor is wonderful as well offering you privacy and seclusion. The third floor is also an excellent place for the kids to call there own as there are three or four beds, a TV and a bathroom along with a fireplace. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a gourmet meal or just a grilled cheese sandwich. Everything is within walking distance from this property. Moonlight Beach is just down the street, Whole Foods Store is a five to ten minute walk from the house. It is pricy, but well worth it as the quality of food is excellent. Plenty of restaurants, little shops, and bike rentals. The Coaster is about a five minute walk from the house that will take you to San Diego. The property manager was very nice and helpful. We arrived late in the evening and after he departed we had a problem with the grill. We called him ten minutes after he left to tell him about the problem we we’re having and he turned right around and came back with no hesitation bringing us a new long neck lighter and even changed out the propane tanks for us. I loved this location and property so much that I’m booking it for a entire month. Thank you Barry for a wonderful and relaxing mini vacation and for all you help.

Lovely Home!
Coming from a picky family 5 Stars all the way! The home is beautiful, clean, well stocked and in the perfect locale. There is plenty of towels, linens, beach chairs, umbrellas. The kitchen has the usual staples to cook with. You are within walking distance to everything in Encinitas! Our family will certainly return. The manager was very helpful and kind and made sure we enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Beautiful Sunsets!
The property was amazing! My family of five and two friends enjoyed three days here and it wasn’t enough. The location was perfect, close to all the shopping and food. Although we barbecued both nights because the outside patio was so nice! Beautiful sunsets! The house was really nice with views in almost every window. It was great for the kids being so close to the beach and the YMCA right up the street. We also got one day of really fun surf at D street. The house had everything you could ask for in a beach house and Barry was really nice and easy to deal with. We hope to come back soon!

Great family reunion at a great property !!
Our family celebrated father’s 70th birthday at this property, and what a great experience it was !! The proximity to Moonlight beach, great nearby restaurants, comfortable and spacious property, and very responsive owner/mgr made our family event a huge success. Also… after we checked out of the property and realized that I lost an important flashdrive, it was searched and mailed back to me safe and sound. Exceeded our expectations!
This was a wonderful house with lots of space and amenities. We had a family reunion there with young kids. The manager was very accommodating. There were 3 clothes washers and dryers–each with detergent and fabric softener. There were beach toys for kids, binoculars for dolphin viewing, a back porch with a new built-in grill, a hot tub, wi-fi, lights all over the house with dimmers, a well-equipped kitchen, hair dryers and so on!

Family Celebration
The house was beautiful with spectacular views and sunsets. It met all my expectations and then some. Photos accurately showed the property. There was space for all 12 of us with three generations. Everything we needed was a few steps away and the rental agent was very helpful. We did a few tourist things Legoland, USS Midway and Sea World, but it was hard to pull ourselves away from the beach and beautiful house. The kitchen and grill area were well appointed and we cooked most nights. There was some shopping in the quaint beach town, but not a lot.
